MORE ABOUT E-TEAM LEARNINGS:
JUST IN TIME AND JUST FOR YOU
Do you let other people decide what you should learn, or do you decide what is best for you?
‘Just in case’ curriculum is decided by a committee ‘just in case’ you might need that content at some time in your life - it can be like learning how to swim but living your whole life on a mountaintop, or in the desert.
‘Just in time’ study delivers knowledge and skills that interest you, at times you have chosen to receive it. It is real learning for the real world - ‘just for you’.
‘Just in case’ curriculum can be described as ‘one size fits all’ and ‘one time
fits all it can be like visiting a department store in which all of the clothes are the same color, the same size, the same style, made out of the same material, and has the same price tag.
‘Just in time’ study delivers knowledge and skills in ways that are suited to your present skill set and future directions. It is real learning for the real world - ‘just for you’.
‘Just in case’ curriculum is delivered in large classes in large institutions -it can be like the production line in a big factory, where people do not get to relate to one another.
‘Just in time’ study provides experienced mentors to help you meet your specific needs, and provides you with the opportunity to connect and build friendships with people from other parts of the world. It is real learning for the real world - ‘just for you’.
‘Just in case’ curriculum is largely ‘dollar-driven’ - it is only available to students who pay considerable amounts of cash or negotiate substantial loans for a 1, 2, or 3-year course. This has to cover administrative charges, student union fees, textbook purchases, and government imposts. These take many years to clear, even for the very successful graduate.
‘Just in time’ study usually involves one up-front, all-inclusive amount for a stand-alone course module. This pay-as-you-go approach is cost-effective and makes tuition costs far easier to meet. It is real learning for the real world - ‘just for you’.
The above comparisons show that ‘just in time’ and ‘just for you’ approaches to learning are worthy of your strong consideration. Why then is ‘just in time and ‘just for you’ learning not more readily available?
One reason is the lack of user-friendly quality content, another is the lack of user-friendly delivery platforms, and a third is about cost considerations.
The E-TEAM LEARNINGS team has addressed all of these issues.
